Privacy Policy

Aspecty is a wellbeing app that helps you reflect, track your mood, breathe, and learn about yourself. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We try to keep it plain and honest.

The short version. We collect what we need to run the app: your account details, the things you create (mood entries, journal and reflection text, your profile), and limited usage data to keep the app working and improve it. Your Apple Health data is processed on your device and is never sent to or stored on our servers. We never sell your data. You can delete your account and the data tied to it at any time.

1. Who we are

Aspecty (the "app", "we", "us", "our") is operated by Capcells S.L., a company registered in Spain. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions, you can reach us at info@capcells.com.

2. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address and a password (passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider, never in plain text). During setup you may also provide your name, date of birth, and gender. You can view and change these in the app.

Your profile and profiling answers

Aspecty builds a personal profile during onboarding. We collect the answers you give to the profiling questionnaire and store the results we calculate from them: your archetype, a short snapshot, insights, and a small set of durable "facts" used to personalize what the app shows you. You can re-run profiling, which updates these results.

Content you create in the app

This is the wellbeing content at the heart of the app, including:

Apple Health data

If you grant permission, Aspecty reads recent Health trends (such as sleep, activity, heart rate, mindful minutes, and State of Mind) to personalize your profile during setup. The raw Health samples are processed entirely on your device and are discarded after use. They are never written back to Apple Health and are never sent to or stored on our servers. Only a small aggregated summary derived on your device may be used to tailor your profiling result. See section 6 for detail.

Subscription information

If you subscribe to Aspecty Plus, your purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We do store your subscription status (for example whether it is active, the current period, and whether it renews) so the app can unlock the features you paid for.

Device and notification data

To deliver push notifications, we store a push token associated with your device installation. You can turn notifications off in your device settings at any time, and we remove tokens that are no longer valid.

Usage and analytics data

We collect limited, aggregated usage analytics (for example which screens are opened and which features are used) to understand how the app is used and to improve it. Analytics never include your wellbeing content. We deliberately exclude mood values, journal or reflection text, profiling answers or results, Apple Health values, names, and emails from analytics events, and analytics are not linked to your account identity.

Technical data

Like any online service, our infrastructure providers process technical data such as IP address, device type, and timestamps in server logs, for security, reliability, and to operate the service.

5. AI processing

Several Aspecty features are AI-assisted: profiling results, daily insights, the daily plan, journal insights, and reflection prompts and chat. To produce these, the relevant content (for example your profiling answers, the text of a journal or reflection entry, or the context of a chat) is sent securely to our AI provider, Anthropic, which generates the response that the app shows you.

This content is processed only to generate your result. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, your inputs and outputs are not used to train Anthropic's models. We send only what is needed for the feature you are using.

6. Apple Health (HealthKit)

Apple Health access is read-only and is requested in context, only to personalize your profile during setup. Aspecty reads recent trends, derives a small summary on your device, and then discards the raw samples. Raw Health data never leaves your device, is never stored on our servers, and is never used for advertising or shared with third parties. You can revoke Health access at any time in the iOS Health app or Settings. Our use of Health data follows Apple's HealthKit requirements.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We share data only with the service providers ("sub-processors") that help us run Aspecty, and only as needed to provide the service:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or in connection with a business transfer (for example a merger or acquisition), in which case we will let you know.

8. International data transfers

Your account and content are stored in the European Union. Some of our sub-processors may process data in the United States or other countries. Where data is transferred outside your region, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. How long we keep your data

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete the personal data associated with it from our active systems, except where we must keep limited information to comply with the law or resolve disputes. Backups are deleted on a rolling schedule. Raw Apple Health data is never retained because we never receive it. Aggregated analytics are retained according to our analytics provider's settings.

11. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account from within the app, in your account settings. Deleting your account removes the personal data associated with it as described in section 9. If you need help, contact us at info@capcells.com.

12. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored hashed, and access to your content is restricted to your own account through row-level security on the database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to it.

Aspecty is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at info@capcells.com and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Aspecty after a change means you accept the updated policy.
